Hip Release Session
Deep focus on the body's foundation.
The hips are the body's energetic and biomechanical center. It's where the mechanics of the pelvis, the spine, and the legs meet, and it's one of the areas where tension most often accumulates in people who spend many hours sitting.
This is a focused ninety-minute session dedicated to the body's foundation: legs, hips, and lower back. I combine traditional Thai Massage techniques with targeted stretches, myofascial release, and decompression work, aiming to create more space and mobility through the region.
It also works the root and sacral chakras, tied to themes of safety, stability, pleasure, and creativity. The hips tend to hold a lot of what the body hasn't had time to process, and it isn't unusual for something emotional to surface alongside the physical release.
This is a shorter and more targeted session than the traditional Thai Massage. It works well on its own, and it works well as a return visit after a full-body session.

The session has five movements.
Opening
I offer you a relaxing tea. We talk for a few minutes so I can get to know you, your health history, and walk you through what we're about to do. We build a space of trust and safety.
Connection and Intention
You lie down comfortably. I guide you through deep, complete breathing that prepares the body for the work ahead. I energize the space with incense and perform a minute of meditation, awakening the compassionate, healing energy that runs through the whole practice.
The Massage
On the futon, with traditional music. Passive yoga-inspired stretches, rhythmic pressure, conscious touch on the energy points. The touch is firm and meditative, taking the body to a deep state of release. Head to toe, with specific focus on what each body needs.
Integration and Silence
At the end, the body rests in stillness to absorb the work. Energy reorganizes. The nervous system enters deep restorative rest.
Closing
We talk about how it went. Sensations, emotions, what came up. I give you feedback on your physical and energetic state, with extra tips you can apply day to day.

About this session.
Does this session help with lower back pain? +
In many cases lower back discomfort isn't related to the lower back alone. The hip flexors, the psoas, and the deep pelvic muscles have significant influence over the mechanics of the region, and working that foundation tends to create more space and mobility for the spine. That said, back pain has varied causes, and this session is complementary work, not a diagnosis and not a substitute for medical evaluation.
How is this different from Traditional Thai Massage? +
Traditional Thai Massage travels the whole body, head to toe, over two or three hours. Hip Release is shorter, ninety minutes, and concentrates all of that time on the foundation: legs, hips, and lower back. If your tension is spread out, the full-body session makes more sense. If it's clearly concentrated in the hips, this one goes deep faster.
Do I need to be flexible? +
No. The stretches are passive: I guide the movement and you don't need to push or reach any position. I work within the range your body has today, and it's usually the people who feel most limited who notice the biggest difference.
Is it normal for emotions to surface during the session? +
It happens fairly often in this area, and there's nothing wrong with it. The hips hold a lot of what went unprocessed. If it comes up, we hold the space for it, without rushing and without turning it into something else. It's part of the work, and it's beautiful.
Can I do this while pregnant? +
High-risk pregnancy is a contraindication. Beyond that, let me know beforehand so we can talk: depending on the trimester and how your pregnancy is going, the work can be adapted, or it may be wiser to wait. I'd rather decide that with you case by case, and with the approval of your medical team.
Maybe another one fits you better.
