Why my sessions last 1h30, 2h, or 3h.
Most massage sessions on the market run 60 minutes. Not because 60 minutes is what the body needs. Because 60 minutes fits the schedule of practitioners selling the session as a product, between one client and the next.
Traditional Thai Massage does not work that way. In Thailand, two, three, even four hour sessions are the standard. The work is slow. The body needs time to open and reorganize. The energy lines have to be walked end to end. The stretches have to be held. The integration at the end is part of the practice, it is not an add-on.
When you book a 2h or 3h session with me, you are not paying for more time. You are investing for the work to actually happen. No clock rushing it, no shortened technique, no closing before the body has gone where it needs to go.
It is the difference between scratching the surface and actually immersing.
The session has five moments.
Opening
I offer you a relaxing tea. We talk for a few minutes so I can get to know you, your health history, and walk you through what we're about to do. We build a space of trust and safety.
Connection and Intention
You lie down comfortably. I guide you through deep, complete breathing that prepares the body for the work ahead. I energize the space with incense and perform a minute of meditation, awakening the compassionate, healing energy that runs through the whole practice.
The Massage
On the futon, with traditional music. Passive yoga-inspired stretches, rhythmic pressure, conscious touch on the energy points. The touch is firm and meditative, taking the body to a deep state of release. Head to toe, with specific focus on what each body needs.
Integration and Silence
At the end, the body rests in stillness to absorb the work. Energy reorganizes. The nervous system enters deep restorative rest.
Closing
We talk about how it went. Sensations, emotions, what came up. I give you feedback on your physical and energetic state, with extra tips you can apply day to day.
